The Woman of Purpose Scholarship

The Woman of Purpose Scholarship application portal for 2024 is now CLOSED. Female students and students who identify as female may apply for scholarship funding, online. Only students who have submitted the application during the current application season will be considered for scholarship funding.

Standard Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Woman of Purpose Scholarship a female or identify as female student must:

Be currently enrolled as a high school senior in the Calhoun County School District 

Be successfully admitted to a nationally accredited community/trade/vocational/technical college

Plan to enroll as a degree-seeking undergraduate for the upcoming aid year in which scholarship funding is being applied

Have a minimum cumulative high school/transfer GPA of 2.70 

Plan to register as a full-time student for the Fall/Spring semesters

 

Selection Process

The select members of the Woman of Purpose Scholarship judging panel will review all applications and consider the merit of the applicant’s academic achievement, application essay responses, recommendations, and financial need. All awards are determined and awarded annually no later than June.

 

Award Information

All General Scholarships are awarded for one year only and are non-renewable. Individual scholarship awards may range from $1,000 – $2,000 based upon criteria detail and availability of funding.

 

Award Notification

Any student selected to receive a scholarship will be notified via e-mail as well as through phone. A formal presentation of the award is given during a selected date and time after the awardee(s) have been notified.
